Living room image database

This is a collection of more than 300 images of rooms scanned without permission from architectural magazines for use in the human memory experiments described in:
- Morikawa, K. & Mel, B.W. (2003). Roles of colors and spatial locations in picture memory: Sex differences. 2003 VSS Abstract.

Thumbnail versions of 100 of these images can be seen below. The images are copyrighted (not by us), so we are not really entitled to post them for your use, but we feel it is in the best interests of science, and we imagine the photographers would agree, if others found good uses of these images for running experiments.

If you do use these images for further studies, you should cite the above abstract. The images can be downloaded as a single 14.3Mb tar file, or individually. .Questions about the database can be addressed to Kazunori Morikawa at kaz@res.otaru-uc.ac.jp.
